Hot buttered Rum

Hot and comforting on a cold winter evening. Both the hot nature of the drink and the spiced rum really warm you up from the inside out.

Ingredients

Directions:

  1. Add batter to mug.
  2. Cover with 5 oz hot water, stir vigorously with fork until dissolved and emulsified.
  3. Add rum and vanilla. Stir.
  4. Optionally float a heavily spiced rum (e.g., Mamajuana) to taste.

Notes:


Hot Buttered Rum Batter

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces (1 stick) butter, room temperature
  • 8 ounces dark brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cardamom

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar and spices.
  2. Cream sugar into butter with hand mixer or stand mixer until combined.
  3. Divide into 12 portions (1 oz each), roll into balls, and refridgerate overnight.
