French Toast Casserole

Ingredients:
Casserole:
- 1 loaf bread (preferably brioche or challah)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk or half & half
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg to taste
Streusel Topping:
- ½ stick of butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground clove
Directions:
- layer slices of bread in a greased 9-x-13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, add eggs, milk, vanilla, and sugar salt, and spices. Whisk to combine,
- Pour contents onto bread.
- Cover baking dish and refrigerate for at least 4-12 hours.
- In a seperate bowl, add all the “Streusel Topping” contents.
- Combine with a pastry blender until uniform texture. Seal in a seperate container and refridgerate alongside soaking bread.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Uncover baking dish and sprinkle the topping evenly over bread and custard mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 45-60 minutes.
